Magalies River Christian Centre (NPC) has generously donated 19 hectares of land in Maropeng, Cradle of Humankind, Mogale City to build the first prototype Hopelands orphan village for 240 children. Our plan is to secure funding to develop the property and build 40 homes (6 children per home), school classrooms, sports facilities, and a multipurpose hall that will be used for social and community work as well as skills development in the area.

The Hopelands Village is situated on the R400, Portion 48 of the Farm Steenekoppie. Our offices are located at Magalies River Christian Centre, Rustenburg Road in Magaliesburg.

Our goals for the Hopelands Village

Making Hopelands a reality is a progressive project, starting with Phase 1 and expanding year by year to complete the village with 40 homes.

Once the village is functional, the day-to-day needs of each household will need to be taken care of in the form of food, clothing, education and general wellbeing.

Hopelands’ mission is to build self-sustaining villages where orphaned children can be placed into a family environment and to create a place where they will receive unconditional love, care, nurturing and spiritual discipleship.

Hopelands is a non-profit, social service organisation founded in 2018 that aims to alleviate the orphan calamity in South Africa. Founders Stephen and Sharon Lamprecht are committed to the vision and mission of Hopelands and endeavour daily to lead the organisation to success. Stephen has vast social experience and after spending a number of years in the corporate sector became a full-time pastor and enjoyed over 20 years serving in the ministry. Stephen and Sharon are assembling a strong, strategically relevant team to make Hopelands and the dream a reality.

Community work

Presently Hopelands is involved in the local community of Magaliesburg. Hopelands Homework Centre was opened during the second term of 2019 where school children from Magaliesburg can come and do their homework in peaceful surroundings. Magalies River Christian Centre has generously given Hopelands space in their building for this cause.

Education forms part of the Hopelands vision and the Homework Centre is a step in the right direction to prepare them in the education of orphans in the future.

Hopelands also participated in the recent call from the Magaliesburg community to clean up the town. It was wonderful to see Hopelands getting involved with this initiative.

All aspects of community involvement are part and parcel of Hopelands. Recently a Road Safety campaign was held in Magaliesburg and Hopelands was there to support.
